Front Disc Brake Caliper Removal and Installation: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Suzuki SX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Reference: FRONT DISC BRAKE COMPONENTS
WARNING:
Removed flexible hose washers cannot assure adequate sealing. If the washers are reused, brake fluid may leak, which could lead to an accident. Always use new flexible hose washers when reinstalling the flexible hoses.
CAUTION:
- Brake fluid is extremely damaging to painted surfaces. If brake fluid contacts a painted surface, immediately wipe it off and flush the surface thoroughly with water.
- Failure to take proper precautions during brake caliper removal may cause damage to the brake flexible hose and/or the brake piston.
- Be careful not to damage the brake flexible hose during brake caliper removal.
- Avoid depressing the brake pedal during the brake caliper removal procedure to prevent the brake piston from being forced out of the cylinder.
NOTE:
When pads are removed, visually inspect caliper for brake fluid leak. Correct leaky point, if any.
