Failure to use proper steering gear fasteners or to perform proper maintenance / repair of steering components can cause unsafe operating conditions.
- Replace steering gear fasteners only with fasteners having the same part number or their equivalent. Do not use replacement parts of lesser quality or substitute design.
- Observe the specified torque value for each fastener to assure proper retention of components.
