Rear Wheel Hub Assembly Removal and Installation (Rear Disc Brake Model): Removal
- Hoist vehicle and remove rear wheel.
- Pull up parking brake lever.
Uncaulk rear drive shaft nut (1) and then remove rear drive shaft nut (1) (4WD model).
- Remove rear brake caliper assembly and rear brake disc referring to REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and REAR BRAKE DISC REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect wheel speed sensor connector (1) (4WD model).
- Remove wheel speed sensor (4) (2WD model).
- Remove brake dust cover (2) and rear wheel hub assembly (3) from rear axle.CAUTION: The rear hub bolts are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. If these bolts are reused, they may work loose. Be sure to replace the rear hub bolts with new ones whenever they are removed.
- Remove stud bolts from rear wheel hub assembly referring to Step 6) under "Removal" of REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (REAR DRUM BRAKE MODEL) , if necessary.
