Rear Wheel Hub Assembly Removal and Installation (Rear Disc Brake Model): Removal

Hoist vehicle and remove rear wheel.
Pull up parking brake lever.
Uncaulk rear drive shaft nut (1) and then remove rear drive shaft nut (1) (4WD model).

Remove rear brake caliper assembly and rear brake disc referring to REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and REAR BRAKE DISC REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Disconnect wheel speed sensor connector (1) (4WD model).
Remove wheel speed sensor (4) (2WD model).
Remove brake dust cover (2) and rear wheel hub assembly (3) from rear axle.
CAUTION: The rear hub bolts are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. If these bolts are reused, they may work loose. Be sure to replace the rear hub bolts with new ones whenever they are removed.

Remove stud bolts from rear wheel hub assembly referring to Step 6) under "Removal" of REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (REAR DRUM BRAKE MODEL) , if necessary.
