Rear Axle Removal and Installation (Rear Disc Brake Model): Removal
- Hoist vehicle and remove rear wheels.
- Remove exhaust center pipe and muffler.
- Remove rear brake caliper, brake flexible hose and parking brake cable referring to REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Disconnect brake pipes (1) from brake hoses (2) and remove E-rings (3).

- Disconnect rear wheel speed sensor connectors and then remove rear wheel hubs referring to "REMOVAL" under REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (REAR DISC BRAKE MODEL) .
- For 4WD model, remove propeller shaft, rear drive shaft and rear differential referring to REAR DIFFERENTIAL DISMOUNTING AND REMOUNTING
.
- Remove coil springs referring to REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect wheel speed sensor clamps (1) and parking brake cable clamp nuts (2) from rear axle.

- While supporting rear axle (1) at both ends remove rear axle bolts and then remove rear axle from chassis by lowering floor jack gradually.
- Remove brake pipes from rear axle, if necessary.
- Remove rubber edge covers (2) (if equipped) from rear axle (1), if necessary.
