CVT Oil Pan and Oil Strainer Removal and Installation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: Failure to take proper precautions when removing and installing the CVT oil pan can cause failure of the CVT.
  • Do not use any fluid other than the specified CVT fluid. Use of any other fluid may cause juddering or other faulty conditions.
  • Avoid overfilling the CVT. If the CVT is filled with too much fluid, the fluid can foam and flow out through the breather. The resulting loss of fluid may cause slippage and failure of the transaxle.
  • Use only lint-free paper for wiping. Do not use cloth or rags.
  • Do not reuse CVT fluid.
  • Replace CVT fluid when the CVT assembly is replaced and also when the vehicle has been driven under excessively high load.
