DTC P0711 TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "CVT System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to CVT SYSTEM CHECK .
CVT fluid temperature sensor circuit check
  1. Turn off ignition switch and disconnect TCM and solenoid connectors.
  2. Check for proper terminal connection to TCM and solenoid connectors.
  3. If connections are OK, check that CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit (A1) and ground circuit (A2) are as follows:
    • Wiring harness resistance of CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit and ground circuit is less than 1 Ω.
    • Insulation resistance of CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit is infinity between solenoid connector and vehicle body ground.
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit terminal and terminal at solenoid connector.
    • Circuit voltage of CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit and ground circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 3. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
CVT fluid temperature sensor check
  1. Check CVT fluid temperature sensor. See CVT Fluid Temperature Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 4. Replace CVT fluid temperature sensor (valve body assembly).
DTC recheck
  1. Clear DTC. See DTC Clearance .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  3. Perform DTC confirmation procedure, and check DTC.

Is DTC P0711 still detected?
Go to Step 5. Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC.
ECT sensor check
  1. Check ECT sensor. See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition?
Replace ECM and recheck DTC. See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace ECT Sensor. See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
