DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Suzuki SX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
  • Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
  • Perform the test extremely carefully.
  • Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.
NOTE:
  • If DTC other than aimed DTC are previously detected in DTC confirmation procedure, be sure to troubleshoot DTC previously detected.
  • Check that the following conditions are satisfied when using this procedure.
    • Battery voltage > 10.5 V
  1. Drive vehicle more than 50 km/h (31 mile/h) for 7 min.
  2. Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  3. Repeat Step  1) through  2) twice.
  4. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
  5. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
  6. Drive vehicle more than 20 km/h (12 mile/h) for 20 sec.
