DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES REFERENCE CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
DTC check
  1. Check DTC.

Is there any CAN-DTC?
Go to PRECAUTION OF TROUBLESHOOTING FOR CAN . Go to Step 3.
Fuel level sensor power supply circuit check
  1. Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect connectors from combination meter and fuel level sensor.
  2. Check for proper terminal connection to combination meter connector and fuel level sensor connector.
  3. If connections are OK, check that fuel level sensor power supply circuit (A1) is as follows.
    • Wiring harness resistance of fuel level sensor power supply circuit is less than 3 Ω.
    • Insulation resistance between fuel level sensor power supply circuit and vehicle body ground is infinity.
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between fuel level sensor power supply circuit and each terminal at fuel level sensor connector.
    • Circuit voltage of fuel level sensor power supply circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
Fuel level sensor ground circuit check
  1. Check that fuel level sensor ground circuit (A2) is as follows.
    • Wiring harness resistance of fuel level sensor ground circuit is less than 3 Ω.
    • Circuit voltage of fuel level sensor ground circuit and body ground is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
Fuel level sensor check
  1. Check fuel level sensor. Refer to FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition?
Go to Step 6. Repair or replace defective parts.
DTC recheck
  1. Replace combination meter. Refer to COMBINATION METER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure and check DTC.

Is DTC P0461 still detected?
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck DTC End.
