Tire Pressure Monitoring System Description: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is controlled by keyless start control module and works according to the following process.

TPMS monitors air pressure in each tire except spare tire. It consists of low tire pressure warning light (9), tire pressure sensors (1) (2) (3) (4), keyless entry/TPMS receiver (6) and keyless start control module (7).

As a tire revolves (at vehicle speed of approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more), tire pressure sensor installed to each wheel transmits tire pressure data through keyless entry/TPMS receiver to keyless start control module. When tire pressure is lower than the standard value in the module, keyless start control module makes low tire pressure warning light lights up to warn the driver that tire pressure has decreased. Also, when any fault is detected in TPMS, it makes low tire pressure warning light blinks for 75 seconds and then remain lit to warn the driver that there is a fault in the system.

Operation of tire pressure sensor, keyless entry/TPMS receiver, keyless start control module and low tire pressure warning light are described below.
