Steering Knuckle Removal and Installation: Installation
Reference: SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM/STEERING KNUCKLE CHECK
For installation, reverse removal procedure, noting the following instructions.
NOTE:
The strut bracket nuts and bolts are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. If the nuts and bolts are reused, it may work loose.
Never reuse the strut bracket nuts and bolts.
Never reuse the strut bracket nuts and bolts.
- Connect steering knuckle to suspension control arm.
- Install new strut bracket bolts (2) and nuts (1).
- Tighten strut bracket nuts (1) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Strut bracket nut (a): 128 N.m (13.1 kgf-m, 94.5 lbf-ft)
- Tighten new suspension control arm ball joint nut (1) to specified torque.NOTE: If suspension control arm ball joint nut are reused, they may work loose. Be sure to replace the suspension control arm ball joint nut with new ones whenever they are removed.
Tightening torque
Suspension control arm ball joint nut (a): 55 N.m (5.5 kgf-m, 40.0 lbf-ft)
- Install front wheel speed sensor (2) and tighten front wheel speed sensor bolt (3).
Tightening torque
Front wheel speed sensor bolt (b): 11 N.m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
- Connect tie-rod end to steering knuckle. Refer to TIE-ROD END REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install front wheel hub assembly and dust cover to steering knuckle. Refer to Front Wheel Hub Assembly Removal and Installation .
- Install front wheel and tighten wheel nuts to specified torque. Refer to WHEEL (WITH TIRE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Check front wheel alignment adjust it as necessary. Refer to Front Wheel Alignment Inspection and Adjustment .
