Balancer Shaft Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove oil pump assembly. Refer to Oil Pump Assembly Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove balancer shaft cover (1) from oil pump assembly.

  3. Remove oil pump sprocket according to the following procedure.
    1. Insert special tool into aligning holes in balancer shafts No. 1 and No. 2 to prevent balancer shafts from rotating.

      Special Tool 

      (A): 09914-67810 

    2. Remove oil pump sprocket (2) while holding by special tool in position.

  4. Remove balancer shafts No. 1 and No. 2 according to the following procedure.
    1. Align match marks (1) on balancer gear No. 1 with match mark (2) on balancer gear No. 2 as shown in figure.

    2. Remove balancer shafts No. 1 (1) and No. 2 (2) from oil pump housing (3) by sliding them in direction of arrow.

  5. Remove balancer shaft bearings if necessary.
