Exhaust Manifold Removal and Installation: Removal
CAUTION:
Touching a hot exhaust system component will cause a burn.
Do not perform any service work on the exhaust system until the exhaust system is cool.

NOTE:
Applying a shock to the exhaust manifold may cause damage to the three-way catalytic converter inside the exhaust manifold.
Handle the exhaust manifold carefully. Be careful not to drop it or hit it against something.

- Disconnect negative (-) cable from battery.
- Remove exhaust manifold cover.
- Disconnect A/F sensor connector (1) and HO2S connector (2), and then detach them from their brackets.
- Remove exhaust pipe No. 1 (1).
- Remove oil level gauge and oil level gauge guide (1).
- Remove exhaust manifold (2) and its gasket from cylinder head.
- Remove A/F sensor and HO2S if necessary. Refer to A/F (AIR FUEL RATIO) SENSOR, HO2S (HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
