Thermostat Removal and Installation: Installation

Reference: THERMOSTAT INSPECTION 

Reverse removal procedure for installation noting the following.

• When installing thermostat (1) on water pump case, be sure to position it so that air bleed valve (2) is aligned with match mark (3).

• Use new gasket when installing thermostat.
• Refill cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Refilling .
• Verify that there is no coolant leakage at each connection. Refer to Engine Cooling System Inspection .
