Brake Back Plate Removal and Installation: Removal

Hoist vehicle and remove rear wheel.
Remove rear brake disc. Refer to REAR BRAKE DISC REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove parking brake shoe. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Removal and Installation .
Remove drive shaft nut and rear wheel hub. Refer to REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove parking brake cable cap nut (1) and parking brake cable (2).
Remove back plate (3).
Remove parking brake anchor nut (4) from back plate.

Remove parking brake anchor bolt (1).
Remove parking brake anchor (2) from back plate (3).
