Front Wheel Speed Sensor Removal and Installation
Front and Rear Wheel Speed Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection
NOTE:
Failure to take proper precautions when removing and installing the wheel speed sensor may lead to damaged to the wheel speed sensor and its harness.
- Do not pull on the wire harness when removing and installing the sensor.
- Do not cause damage to any surface of the wheel speed sensor.
- Do not allow dust or other foreign material to enter the sensor installation hole.
Removal
1) Disconnect negative (-) cable from battery.
2) Disconnect front wheel speed sensor connector (1).
3) Hoist vehicle and remove wheel.
4) Remove harness clamp, clamp bolts (2) and grommet (3).
5) Remove front wheel speed sensor (4) from knuckle.
Installation
Front and Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Inspection
1) Check that no foreign material is attached to sensor (1) and mating encoder (2).
2) Install it by reversing removal procedure.
Tightening torque
Front wheel speed sensor bolt (a): 11 Nm (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Front wheel speed sensor harness clamp bolt (b): 11 Nm (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
3) Check that there is no clearance between sensor and knuckle.
