Compressor Clutch: Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the engine room cover (VQ40DE only). Refer to [ENGINE ROOM COVER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ].
  2. Remove the cooling fan. Refer to [COOLING FAN: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (CRANKSHAFT DRIVEN TYPE) ] (QR25DE), [ENGINE COOLING FAN: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (CRANKSHAFT DRIVEN TYPE) ] (VQ40DE).
  3. Remove the center bolt while holding the clutch disc stationary using Tool as shown.

    Tool number: J-44614 

  4. Remove the clutch disc and shims.
    CAUTION: Retain the shims for installation.
  5. Remove the snap ring using external snap ring pliers or suitable tool.

  6. Remove the pulley using Tool (A) (QR25DE), or suitable tool (A) (VQ40DE).

    Tool number (QR25DE only) : KV99233130 (J-29884) 

    CAUTION: To prevent deformation of the pulley groove, the puller claws should be hooked under the pulley groove and not into the pulley groove.
  7. Remove the magnet coil snap ring (A) using a suitable tool and remove the magnet coil (1).
