Generator: Removal and Installation - VQ40DE Models: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery: Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove engine cooling fan (Motor driven type). Refer to [ENGINE COOLING FAN: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (MOTOR DRIVEN TYPE) ].
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to [DRIVE BELTS: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ]
  4. Remove generator stay, using power tools.
  5. Remove the generator upper bolt, using power tools.
  6. Disconnect the generator harness connectors.
  7. Remove the generator.
