C1729 Vehicle Speed Signal

Description

The vehicle speed signal is not being detected by the BCM.

NOTE:

The Signal Tech II Tool (J-50190) can be used to perform the following functions. Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

- Activate and display TPMS transmitter IDs
- Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS transmitter
- Read TPMS DTCs
- Register TPMS transmitter IDs

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1. PERFORM DTC CHECK

1 On SELECT DIAG MODE, select "DTC check" screen.
2 Check display contents on "DTC check" screen.

Is the CAN COMM CIRCUIT displayed in "DTC check" display?
YES
Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure".
NO
Inspection end.

Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE:

- Activate and display TPMS transmitter IDs
- Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS transmitter
- Read TPMS DTCs
- Register TPMS transmitter IDs

Malfunction Code No. 52 (DTC C1729)

1. PERFORM DTC CHECK

1 On SELECT DIAG MODE, select "DTC check" screen.
2 Check display contents on "DTC check" screen.

Is the CAN COMM CIRCUIT displayed in "DTC check" display?
YES
Perform trouble diagnosis for CAN communication system. Refer to [LAN System: Basic Inspection] LAN System Basic Inspection.
NO
Check combination meter. Refer to [SDT Function (METER/M&A)] SDT Function (Meter/M&A).
