Inspection of ID Controller and Its Circuit (If Equipped): Notes

ID controller and its circuit can be checked at ID controller connector by measuring voltage.

CAUTION: If you connect a voltmeter or ohmmeter directly to the ID controller by disconnecting the ID controller connector, you can damage the ID controller. Never connect a voltmeter or an ohmmeter directly to any terminal on the ID controller by disconnecting the ID controller connector.
  1. Remove ID controller.
  2. Connect ID controller connector.
  3. Check voltage and waveform at each terminal.

If check result is not as specified, check applicable circuit for open or short. If circuit is good condition, replace ID controller with new one.

NOTE: As each terminal voltage is affected by the battery voltage, confirm that it is 11 V or more when the ignition switch is turned to ON position.
