SUZUKI: 2010 - 2011 Kizashi with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

CONDITION

Customer may report a loss of engine power during periods of high speed driving, pulling heavy loads, or driving steep grades and mountains.

CAUSE

When the CVT oil temperature becomes extremely high, the CVT Power Reduction function becomes active and engine power output is reduced.

CORRECTION

Design changes to the CVT oil pan will maintain normal oil operating temperature longer. Design changes also include a revised oil strainer and oil level gauge.

If a vehicle has the condition described above, install the New  components listed in the table below.

NOTE: When refilling the CVT oil, use Suzuki CVT Oil, P/N 990B0-01002 or an equivalent.

NOTE: Installing the New CVT oil pan without the New CVT oil strainer will result in a lack of CVT lubrication and cause CVT damage.
When replacing the Old oil pan with the New pan, always install a New oil strainer and New level gauge.
Never reuse oil pan bolts, the oil pan gasket or the oil pan drain plug gasket - always replace them with new parts once they are removed.
