Power Steering Oil Pump: Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir tank.
  2. On VQ40DE model, remove the engine room cover. Refer to [ENGINE ROOM COVER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ].
  3. On VQ40DE model, remove cooling fan assembly. Refer to [ENGINE COOLING FAN: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (MOTOR DRIVEN TYPE) ].
  4. Remove the air duct assembly. Refer to [AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT: EXPLODED VIEW ] (QR25DE), [AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT: EXPLODED VIEW ] (VQ40DE).
  5. Remove the serpentine drive belt from the auto tensioner and power steering oil pump. Refer to [DRIVE BELTS: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ] (QR25DE), [DRIVE BELTS: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ] (VQ40DE).
  6. Disconnect the pressure sensor electrical connector.
  7. Remove the high pressure and low pressure piping from the power steering oil pump. Refer to [HYDRAULIC LINE: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ].
  8. Remove the power steering oil pump bolts, then remove the power steering pump.
