DTC Troubleshooting

P2119 DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK:J24B .
DTC check
  1. Check DTC.

Is there DTC(s) other than P2119?
Go to applicable DTC (s). Go to Step 3.
Throttle motor power supply circuit check
  1. Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect connectors from ECM.
  2. Check for proper terminal connection to ECM connectors.
  3. If connections are OK, turn ignition switch to ON position.
  4. Check that throttle motor power supply circuit (A4) is battery voltage.

Is it in good condition?
Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
Throttle motor drive circuit check
  1. Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect connector from throttle body assembly.
  2. Check for proper terminal connection to throttle body assembly connector.
  3. If connection is OK, check that throttle motor drive circuit (open and close) (B1 - B2) is as follows.
    • Wiring harness resistance of each throttle motor drive circuit is less than 3 Ω.
    • Insulation resistance of each throttle motor drive circuit is infinity between throttle body assembly connector and vehicle body ground.
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between each throttle motor drive circuit terminal and other terminals at throttle body assembly connector.
    • Circuit voltage of each throttle motor drive circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Is it in good condition?
Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
TP sensor (main) signal circuit check
  1. Check that TP sensor (main) signal circuit (C2) is as follows.
    • Wiring harness resistance of TP sensor (main) signal circuit is less than 3 Ω.
    • Insulation resistance of TP sensor (main) signal circuit is infinity between throttle body assembly connector and vehicle body ground.
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between TP sensor (main) signal circuit and each terminal at throttle body assembly connector.
    • Circuit voltage of TP sensor (main) signal circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Is it in good condition?
Go to Step 6. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
Throttle body assembly check
  1. Check throttle body for operation and condition, see THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition?
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Replace throttle body assembly.
