DTC Confirmation Procedure

NOTE:

Check to make sure that the following condition is satisfied when using this procedure.

- 0 °C (32 °F) < ECT at engine started < 50 °C (122 °F)


1) Run engine at idle speed for 20 sec.
2) Run engine at 3,500 rpm for 20 sec.

DTC Troubleshooting


1. Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.
2. DTC check
Check DTC.
Is there DTC(s) other than P2008?
YES
Go to applicable DTC(s).
NO
Go to Step 3.
3. IMRC valve motor drive circuit (open) and IMRC valve motor drive circuit (close) check
Check IMRC valve motor drive circuit (open) and IMRC valve motor drive circuit (close) referring to Step 3 of P2004 DTC P2004 / P2006.
Are they in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 4.
NO
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4. IMRC valve motor check
Check IMRC valve motor. IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control) Valve Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO
Replace IMRC valve. Intake Manifold Removal and Installation
