Troubleshooting


1. Fuel pump inspection
Remove fuel filler cap and turn ignition switch to ON position.
Confirm that fuel pump operating sound is heard from fuel filler port for about 2 sec. and then it stops.
Is it in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Check fuel pump circuit. Fuel Pump and Its Circuit Check
2. Fuel pressure check
Check fuel pressure. Fuel Pressure Check
Is it in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Repair or replace defective part.
3. Power balance test
Check power balance. Power Balance Test
Is it in good condition?
YES
Fuel system is in good condition.
NO
Go to Step 4.
4. Fuel injector circuit check
Check fuel injector circuit. Fuel Injector Circuit Check
Is it in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 5
NO
Repair or replace defective part.
5. Fuel injector check
Check fuel injector. Fuel Injector Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Service and Repair
NO
Replace fuel injector.
