Installation Procedure

  1. Install the intermediate shaft in the transmission.
  2. Move the intermediate shaft back and forth to ensure that the intermediate shaft is properly seated.

  3. Hand tighten the mounting bolts for the intermediate shaft mounting bracket.
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Tighten the mounting bolts for the intermediate shaft.

    Tightening torque 

    Tighten the mounting bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft)  .

  5. Install the NEW intermediate shaft retaining ring.
  6. Install the wheel drive shaft assembly. Refer to Installation Procedure  and Installation Procedure .
  7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
