Installation Procedure

  1. Using the J 44809, install the left axle seal into the transaxle.
  2. Install the left front axle shaft. Refer to INSTALLATION PROCEDURE and INSTALLATION PROCEDURE .
  3. Lower the vehicle.
    NOTE: Dextron®III automatic transmission fluid is not compatible with this transaxle. If Dextron®III ATF is used, transaxle failure will result. This transaxle uses GM T-IV fluid GM P/N 88900925.
  4. Inspect the transaxle fluid level. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECK .
