Input Shaft Oil Seal Replacement

CAUTION:
- Thoroughly clean transaxle exterior before servicing it.
- Keep working table, tools and hands clean while servicing.
- Use special care to handle aluminum parts so as not to damage them.
- Do not expose removed parts to dust. Keep them always clean.
- Dismount transaxle. See CVT Assembly Dismounting and Remounting
- Remove torque converter (1) from transaxle.
- Remove input shaft oil seal (1) by using flat-head rod or the like (2).CAUTION: When removing oil seal, be careful not to scratch the oil seal press-fit part of transaxle housing. Otherwise, CVT fluid may cause leak.
- Apply grease to new input shaft oil seal lip.
: Grease 99000-25030 (SUZUKI Super Grease C)
- Using special tool, drive in input shaft oil seal (1) at specified position as shown in figure.

Input shaft oil seal installing depth
"a": 0.5 - 1.5 mm (0.020 - 0.059 in .)
- Install torque converter (3) noting the following.CAUTION:
- Before installing torque converter, make sure that its pump hub portion is free from nicks, burrs or damage which may cause oil seal to leak.
- Be very careful not to drop torque converter on oil pump. Damage in gear, should it occur, may cause a critical trouble.
- Install torque converter aligning projection (1) of torque converter and grooves (2) of oil pump.
- Install torque converter, using care not to damage input shaft oil seal.
- After installing torque converter (3), check that distance "a" is within specification.

"a": More than 17.0 mm (0.669 in .)
- Check torque converter for smooth rotation.
- Remount transaxle. See CVT Assembly Dismounting and Remounting
- Replenish proper amount of CVT.
- Check CVT fluid level.
