Inspection of ID Controller and Its Circuit (If Equipped): Notes
ID controller and its circuit can be checked at ID controller connector by measuring voltage.
CAUTION:
ID controller cannot be checked by itself. It is strictly prohibited to connect voltmeter or ohmmeter to ID controller with connector disconnected from it.
- Remove ID controller.
- Connect ID controller connector.
- Check voltage and waveform at each terminal.
If check result is not as specified, check applicable circuit for open or short. If circuit is good condition, replace ID controller with new one.
NOTE: As each terminal voltage is affected by the battery voltage, confirm that it is 11 V or more when the ignition switch is turned to ON position.ID CONTROLLER CONNECTOR TERMINALS REFERENCE CHARTTerminal Circuit Normal Voltage Condition G29-1 Ground Below 0.3 V - G29-4 CAN communication (Active High signal) 2.5 - 3.6 V See the REFERENCE WAVEFORM G29-5 CAN communication (Active Low signal) 1.6 - 2.5 V See the REFERENCE WAVEFORM G29-7 Power supply About 12.0 V Ignition switch at ON position G29-8 Power supply About 12.0 V Ignition switch at ON position
