DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES CHART

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
2  Idle speed check 
  1. Check idle speed, see Idle Speed Inspection .

Is it in good condition? 		 Check for intermittent, see INTERMITTENT CONNECTION AND POOR CONTACT INSPECTION . Go to Step 4.
3  Air intake system check 
  1. Check air intake system for clogging and air inhibit.

Is it in good condition? 		 Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defection parts.
4  Fuel system check 
  1. Check fuel system, see FUEL SYSTEM INSPECTION .

Is check result satisfactory? 		 Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective part.
5  Throttle body check 
  1. Check throttle body, see ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 		 Go to Step 6. Replace throttle body assembly, see THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6  Engine mechanical check 
  1. Check engine mechanical for performance, see Engine Symptom Diagnosis .

Is it in good condition? 		 Replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Repair or replace defective part.
