DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES CHART

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
2  DTC check 
  1. Check DTC.

Is there DTC(s) other than P0101? 		 Go to applicable DTC(s). Go to Step 3.
3  Exhaust system and air intake system check 
  1. Check exhaust system and air intake system for clogging or leak.

Are they in good condition? 		 Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defective part.
4  MAF sensor power supply circuit check 
  1. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF".
  2. Disconnect connector from MAF & IAT sensor.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to MAF & IAT sensor connector.
  4. If connections are OK, push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
  5. Check that voltage between "A1" circuit and ground is battery voltage.

Is it in good condition? 		 Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
5  MAF sensor ground circuit check 
  1. Check that voltage between "A1" and "A3" circuits are battery voltage.

Is it in good condition? 		 Go to Step 6. Repair or replace "A3" circuit.
6  MAF sensor signal circuit check 
  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  4. If connections are OK, check the following points.
    • Resistance of "A2" circuit: less than 1 Ω
    • Resistance between "A2" circuit and ground: infinity
    • Resistance between "A2" circuit terminal and other terminal at MAF & IAT sensor connector: infinity
    • Voltage of "A2" circuit: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition? 		 Go to Step 7. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
7  MAF sensor check 
  1. Check MAF sensor, see MAF AND IAT SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 		 Go to Step 8. Replace MAF & IAT sensor, see MAF AND IAT SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8  Throttle body assembly check 
  1. Check throttle body for performance, see ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 		 Replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace throttle body assembly, see THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
