DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
DTC check 
  1. Check DTC.

Is there DTC(s) other than P0340? 
Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC(s). Go to Step 3.
CMP sensor power supply circuit check 
  1. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF".
  2. Disconnect connector from CMP sensor.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to CMP sensor connector.
  4. If connections are OK, push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
  5. Check that "A1" circuit is battery voltage.

Is it good condition? 
Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
CMP sensor signal circuit and ground circuit check 
  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  4. If connections are OK, check the following points.
    • Resistance of "A2" and "A3" circuits: less than 1 Ω
    • Resistance between "A2" circuit and ground: infinity
    • Resistance between "A2" circuit terminal and each terminal at CMP sensor connector: infinity
    • Resistance between "A3" circuit terminal and each terminal at CMP sensor connector: infinity
    • Voltage of "A2" and "A3": 0 - 1 V with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON".

Are they in good condition? 
Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
CMP sensor and signal rotor check 
  1. Check CMP sensor and signal rotor, see CMP SENSOR INSPECTION .

Are they in good condition? 
Replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace CMP sensor, see CMP SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
