DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
APP sensor (main) power supply circuit check
  1. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF".
  2. Disconnect connector from accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor).
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor) connector.
  4. If connections are OK, push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
  5. Check that voltage between "A1" and "A3" circuits are 5 V.

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 5. Go to Step 3.
APP sensor (main) ground circuit check
  1. Check that voltage "A1" circuit and ground is 5 V.

Is it in good condition?
Repair or replace "A3" circuit.
If this DTC is detected again, replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ..
Go to Step 4.
APP sensor (main) power supply circuit check
  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  4. If connections are OK, check the following points.
    • Resistance of "A1" circuit: less than 1 Ω
    • Resistance of "A1" circuit between accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor) connector and ground: infinity
    • Resistance between "A1" circuit terminal and each terminal at APP sensor connector: infinity
    • Voltage of "A1" circuit: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition?
Replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Repair or replace defective wire harness.
APP sensor (main) signal circuit check
  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C01" and "E01" connectors.
  4. If connections are OK, check that APP sensor (main) signal circuit (A2) is as follows.
    • Resistance of "A2" circuit: less than 1 Ω
    • Resistance of "A2" circuit between accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor) connector and ground: infinity
    • Resistance between "A2" circuit terminal and each terminal at accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor) connector: infinity
    • Voltage of "A2" circuits: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 6. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
APP sensor check
  1. Check APP sensor, see APP SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition?
Replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor), see ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY (INCORPORATING APP SENSOR) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
