Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. Disconnect connector of CKP sensor wire with ignition switch turned off.

  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position and check that voltage of CKP sensor wire connector (vehicle side) between terminals "1" and "2" is 4 - 6 V.

    If faulty condition is found, check ECM power supply circuit, ECM ground circuit, wire harness between ECM and CKP sensor wire connector and connections.

  3. Check that CKP sensor signal is outputted properly. See INSPECTION OF ECM AND ITS CIRCUITS .

    If faulty condition is found, check the following.
