Information Display Message Table

Listed in the table below are state messages displayed on information display.

Messages with an asterisk mark (*1 and *2) are used twice but their priority and display color vary depending on display conditions.

When two or more messages are involved, they are displayed in the order of higher to lower priority. If a new message occurs while messages are being displayed, interrupt message appears and then messages are displayed in the order of higher to lower priority.

Message in orange color is displayed continuously as long as applicable display condition remains and at the same time, master warning indicator flashes. On the other hand, message in white color is displayed for 5 to 7 seconds continuously and then goes off.

1 SERVICE ESP SYSTEM Orange ESP® control module detected DTC ((1))
2 SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM Orange 4WD control module detected DTC (except C1237, C1238 and C1243)
3 4WD MODE-N VEHICLE CAN ROLL Orange Transfer shift position at "N" position
4 TRANSMISSION OVERLOAD USE 4HL MODE Orange Transfer is at 4H position and rotational difference between front and rear wheels is above certain level (when wheel-slip is detected)
5 BRAKE ON/ACCEL OFF GEARSHIFT N White While transfer switch is being operated or transfer position is being shifted, if any of the following conditions occurs (except 4H ↔ 4HL)
  • A/T shift position is not at "N" position (A/T model)
  • Brake light switch is OFF (brake pedal is not depressed)
  • Engine running is not at idle speed while it is running (accelerator pedal is depressed)
  • Clutch start switch is OFF (clutch pedal is not depressed) (M/T model)
6 BRAKE ON/ACCEL OFF CLUTCH IN White
7 CHECK TRANSFER SWITCH POSITION (*1) White Transfer switch is operated while driving (except 4H ↔ 4HL)
8 TRANSFER CASE SWITCHING White Transfer failed in shifting
9 PLEASE WAIT TRANSFER CASE SWITCHING White Transfer switch is operated while driving (except 4H ↔ 4HL)
10 CHECK TRANSFER SWITCH POSITION (*1) White
  • Transfer failed in shifting (except 4H ↔ 4HL)
  • Transfer switch position and transfer shift position are different
11 ESP OFF SWITCH WORKS ONLY IN 4HL White ESP OFF switch pushed with transfer shift position at "4H"
12 LOW FUEL White Remaining fuel is less than about 9.9 liters (20.92117.42 US/Imp/pt.) (in linkage with lighting of low fuel warning light)
13 ICE POSSIBLE DRIVE WITH CARE White Outside air temperature drops lower than 3 °C (37.4 °F)
14 DOOR OPEN (*2) Orange Vehicle running with any door open
15 DOOR OPEN (*2) White Vehicle at stop with any door open
16 LIGHTS ON Orange Ignition switch at OFF position, lighting switch at HEAD or CLEARANCE position and driver side door opened
17 MAINTENANCE MODE ACTIVE Orange ESP® maintenance mode is activated
18 HILL HOLD DISABLED Orange Some trouble related to hill hold function occurred
