A/T Basic Check

This check is important for troubleshooting when TCM has detected no DTC and no abnormality has been noted in visual inspection. Follow the flow carefully.

A/T BASIC CHECK - DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "A/T System Check" preformed?  Go to Step 2. Go to A/T SYSTEM CHECK .
2  Road test 
  1. Perform road test, see ROAD TEST .

Is it OK? 		 Go to Step 3. Repair or replace defective part.
3  Manual road test 
  1. Perform manual road test. See MANUAL ROAD TEST .

Is it OK? 		 Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defective part.
4  Engine brake test 
  1. Perform engine brake test. See ENGINE BRAKE TEST .

Is it OK? 		 Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective part.
5  Stall test 
  1. Perform stall test. See STALL TEST .

Is it OK? 		 Go to Step 6. Repair or replace defective part.
6  Time lag test 
  1. Perform time lag test. See TIME LAG TEST .

Is it OK? 		 Go to Step 7. Repair or replace defective part.
7  Line pressure test 
  1. Perform line pressure test. See LINE PRESSURE TEST .

Is it OK? 		 Go to Step 8. Repair or replace defective part.

  1. Proceed to "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS 1 " in A/T Symptom Diagnosis  .

Is trouble identified? 		 Repair or replace faulty parts. Go to Step 9.
9  1) Proceed to "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS 2 " in A/T Symptom Diagnosis  .
Is trouble identified? 		 Repair or replace faulty parts. Proceed to "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS 3 " in A/T Symptom Diagnosis  .
