Line Pressure Test: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Purpose of this test is to check operating conditions of each part by measuring fluid pressure in fluid pressure line.

Line pressure test requires following conditions.

  1. Apply parking brake securely and place chocks against wheels.
  2. Remove fluid pressure check hole plug bolt.
  3. Attach oil pressure gauge to fluid pressure check hole in transmission case.

    Special Tool

    (A): 09925-37811-001

CAUTION: After attaching oil pressure gauge, check that no fluid leakage exists.

  4. Depress foot brake fully, run engine at idle speed and stall speed then check fluid pressure in "D" or "R" range.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not continue running engine at stall speed longer than 5 seconds.
    • After performing line pressure test, be sure to leave engine running at idle for longer than one minute before performing another line pressure test.

    Automatic transmission line pressure

    AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATION

      "D" range "R" range
    At idle speed 355 - 425 kPa (3.6 - 4.3 kgf/cm2 , 52 - 62 psi) 475 - 575 kPa (4.8 - 5.9 kgf/cm2 , 69 - 83 psi)
    At stall speed 1219 - 1329 kPa (12.4 - 13.6 kgf/cm2 , 177 - 193 psi) 1166 - 1394 kPa (11.9 - 14.2 kgf/cm2 , 169 - 202 psi)
  5. If check result is OK, disconnect special tool, then tighten fluid pressure check hole bolt to specified torque.

    Tightening torque

    Fluid pressure check hole bolt: 8 N.m (0.8 kg-m, 6.0 lbf-ft)
