Amplifier Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- 3.Test for B+ between the battery voltage circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the audio amplifier.
- Radio ON, test for B+ between the signal circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- 6.Test for 0.6-1.0 V between the amplifier mute circuit terminal 16 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the mute circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the mute circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the audio amplifier.
