Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the transmission shift lever.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal C and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the IGN circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Verify the scan tool Driver Shift Request parameter indicates Invalid.
- If other than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Ignition OFF, test for 300-600 ohms between the signal circuit terminal B and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the transmission control.
