Circuit/System Testing
NOTE:
When removing connectors, inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:
- PPS module
- SDM
- PPS module harness connector
- SDM wiring harness connector
- Ignition ON, verify no PPS DTCs are set.
- If any PPS DTCs are set, refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) LIST - VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION .
- Verify the correct PPS part number is installed in the vehicle.
- If the incorrect PPS is installed, replace with the correct PPS.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the PPS module.
- Ignition OFF, test for less then 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If greater then the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Reconnect all PPS components and perform the PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM REZEROING .
- Clear all DTCs and operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. DTC B0081 should not set.
- If DTC B0081 sets, replace the PPS.
