Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Suzuki XL7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When removing connectors, inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:
  • The PPS module
  • The PPS module wiring harness connector
  1. Ignition OFF, Disconnect the PPS module harness connector.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less then 1 ohm between the PPS sensor ground circuit and ground.
    • If greater then the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the PPS B + circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. if circuit tests normal, replace the PPS.
  4. Reconnect all PPS components and perform the PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM REZEROING .
  5. Verify DTC B0074 does not exist.
    • If DTC B0074 is set, replace the PPS.
