Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Yaw Rate/Lateral Accelerometer sensor.
- Ignition OFF for 60 seconds, test for less than 10 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the 12 volt reference circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the 12 volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the steering angle sensor.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the following serial data circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- CAN Bus High Serial Data circuit terminal 2
- CAN Bus Low Serial Data circuit terminal 1
- If greater than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the serial data circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- CAN Bus High Serial Data circuit terminal 2
- CAN Bus Low Serial Data circuit terminal 1
- If less than the specified value, test the serial data circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the serial data circuit terminals listed below.
- CAN Bus High Serial Data circuit terminal 2 at the steering position sensor harness connector and terminal 2 at the yaw rate sensor harness connector.
- CAN Bus Low Serial Data circuit terminal 5 at the steering position sensor harness connector and terminal 1 at the yaw rate sensor harness connector.
- If not the specified value, test the communication circuits for a short together.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw/lat sensor. If the DTC resets, replace the EBCM.
