Enabling Air Bag System
- Confirm that battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.
- Turn ignition switch to "LOCK" position and remove key.
- Connect yellow connector (1) of driver air bag (inflator) module by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
- Connect yellow connector (1) of passenger air bag (inflator) module by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
- Install driver and passenger side front pillar lower trim.
- Connect yellow connector (1) of side-air bag (inflator) module by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
- Connect connector of side curtain-air bag (inflator) module and then install each trim as follows.
For hatchback model:
- Connect yellow connector (1) by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
- Install right-side rear quarter lower trim.
For sedan model with rear separate seat:
- Connect black connector (1).
- Lock connector with lock button (2).
- Install rear pillar inner trim.
- Install rear seat side back referring to REAR SEAT COMPONENTS .
- Install rear side sill scuff.
For sedan model with rear bench seat:
- Connect black connector (1).
- Lock connector with lock button (2).
- Install rear pillar inner trim.
- Install seat cushion and seat back referring to REAR SEAT COMPONENTS
- Install "A/B" fuse to fuse box.
- Connect negative (-) cable at battery.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position and verify that "AIR BAG" warning light flashes 6 times and then turns OFF. If it does not operate as described, perform AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
