Thermostat Assembly Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Drain coolant. See COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING .
  2. Remove intake upper manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove wiring harness (1) of HO2S-1 (bank 1) from water inlet pipe.
  4. Remove water inlet pipe (2).
  5. Remove heater inlet hose (3), heater outlet hose (4), water inlet hose (5) and water outlet hose (6) from thermostat assembly.

  6. Remove thermostat assembly (1) from cylinder block.
