Radiator Cooling Fan Relay Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Remove radiator cooling fan relay No. 1 (1), No. 2 (2) and/or No. 3 (3) from relay box.
  3. Check radiator cooling fan relay No. 1 and No. 2 as follows.
    1. Check that there is no continuity between terminals "C" and "D". If there is continuity, replace relay.
    2. Connect battery positive (+) terminal to terminal "B" of relay.
    3. Connect battery negative (-) terminal to terminal "A" of relay.
    4. Check continuity between terminals "C" and "D".

      If there is no continuity, replace relay.

  4. Check radiator cooling fan relay No. 3 as follows.
    1. Check that there is no continuity between terminals "C" and "E". If there is continuity, replace relay.
    2. Check that there is continuity between terminals "C" and "D". If there is no continuity, replace relay.
    3. Connect battery positive (+) terminal to terminal "B" of relay.
    4. Connect battery negative (-) terminal to terminal "A" of relay.
    5. Check continuity between terminals "C" and "E".

      If there is no continuity, replace relay.
