Line Pressure Test: Troubleshooting

TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Condition Possible Cause Action
Higher than standard level in each range  Malfunction of pressure control solenoid valve (High line pressure) Inspect. If NG, replace valve body assembly. 
Malfunction of primary regulator valve (High line pressure) Replace valve body assembly. 
Lower than standard level in each range  Malfunction of pressure control solenoid valve (Low line pressure) Inspect. If NG, replace valve body assembly. 
Malfunction of primary regulator valve (Low line pressure) Replace valve body assembly. 
Clogged oil strainer Replace. 
Faulty oil pump Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Defective O/D clutch Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Leakage from both "D" and "R" range fluid pressure circuit Inspect. If NG, replace valve body assembly. 
Lower than standard level in "D" range  Fluid leakage from direct clutch Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Defective O/D clutch Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Leakage from "D" range fluid pressure circuit Inspect. If NG, replace valve body assembly. 
Lower than standard level in "R" range  Fluid leakage from direct clutch Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Defective O/D clutch Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Fluid leakage from reverse brake Inspect. If NG, replace. 
Leakage from "R" range fluid pressure circuit Inspect. If NG, replace valve body assembly.
