Preliminary Procedures Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING . Remove the shift control lever knob. refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL LEVER KNOB REPLACEMENT . Remove the shift control boot. refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL LEVER BOOT REPLACEMENT . Remove the instrument panel lower brace bezel. refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER BRACE BEZEL REPLACEMENT . Disconnect the shift control cable. refer to SHIFT CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENT . Disconnect the shift control electrical connector.
1	Shift Control Nuts (Qty 4). CAUTION: refer to FASTENER NOTICE . Tightening torque Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
2	Shift Control
