- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector from the battery current sensor.
- Probe the low reference circuit terminal B with a test lamp that is connected to B+. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.4 volts between the battery current sensor supply voltage circuit terminal A and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the supply voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If greater than specified range, test the supply voltage circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the battery current sensor signal circuit terminal C and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If greater than specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the battery current sensor.
