Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND FILLING (LY7 GE 47716 FILL)  or COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND FILLING (LY7 STATIC FILL) .
  2. Remove the heater inlet and outlet pipes. Refer to HEATER INLET PIPE REPLACEMENT  and HEATER OUTLET PIPE REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the thermostat housing bolts (1).
  4. Remove the housing.
  5. Remove the thermostat (3) and discard the thermostat seal (4).
