Preliminary Procedure Remove the rear differential assembly from the vehicle. Refer to DIFFERENTIAL REPLACEMENT .
1	Rear Differential Vent Procedure Remove any dirt or debris from the vent area. Using an appropriate pair of pliers, remove the vent from the rear differential housing. The rear differential does not have to be removed from the jack stand to perform this procedure. When installing the vent, use a deep well socket that fits on the flange of the vent and gently tap the vent into place.

Rear Differential Vent
Procedure

Remove any dirt or debris from the vent area.
