Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X2 at the rear differential clutch control module.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the following control circuit terminals and ground:
- Solenoid high control circuit terminal 5
- Solenoid low control circuit terminal 3
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the appropriate control circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following control circuit terminals and ground:
- Solenoid high control circuit terminal 5
- Solenoid low control circuit terminal 3
- If less than the specified value, test the appropriate control circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the solenoid high control terminal 5 and the solenoid low control terminal 3.
- If greater than the specified range, test both control circuits for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the differential rear wheel drive module clutch housing solenoid.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the CCM.
